Pyramid interview: "Pyramid always comes with concepts."

We welcome PYRAMID project, an amazing music project.
Everyone, such a great project you released with your album “RAGE” released 4th November 2022 by Sleaszy Records. First of all, introduce to us who are these fantastic musicians and singers in this album.

Lance: Pyramid is an American progressive metal super-project, a collaboration of choice virtuosos, delivering high class and high action songs. The main man of this band is Lance Sawyer and he co-operate  of the best musicians of the metal scene like Tim Ripper Owens (ex-Judas Priest, ex-Iced Earth, among others), Andry Lagiou (The Harps), Harry Conklin “The Tyrant” (Jag Panzer) on vocals, Mike Abdow (Fates Warning) on guitars and Chris Quirarte (Redemption) on drums, Adam Bentley (Arch Echo)guitars and mixing engineer, Joey Izzo (Arch Echo) the master on the keyboards and Perrine Missemer on the amazing violin. The debut entitled “Rage” was released in 2022, via Sleaszy Rider.

How you all met and build this masterpiece?

Lance: Joey and I know each other and grew up in the same area of Up State New York. Adam is a close friend of Joeys so asking him to engineer back in 2017 was how the music first evolved. All the others live some miles and even countries away so it was done through DM, Wav files and text messages and or phone.

Was the distance a huge problem for you to produce the album?

Lance: Not at all. The technology today allows to record, communicate and share information in our comfort zones. Nothing different then how many businesses operate today.

What does the album’s title reveal?

Lance: While all these words mean "an intense emotional state induced by displeasure," rage and fury suggest loss of self-control from violence of emotion.

Who writes the lyrics and music in this album?

Lance: Tim “Ripper” Owens , Harry “the Tyrant” Conklin, Andry Lagiou and Lance Sawyer.

What is the feedback you received from audience so far? And how do you feel?

Lance: The feedback has been very positive and a huge range of both classic old school metal to new age prog fans really are enjoying the diversity and unity that Pyramid has created.

How do you feel that we are trapped in a pandemic? Did you face serious problems with the recording?

Lance: The pandemic 😷 was a very difficult time. The recording is not affected. Each of us have amazing technology and home studios to be able to write, record and share our files with each very easily.

Do you believe Internet is helping your music to travel around the world, making new fans and of course how the sales go?

Lance: 💯 it allows to be able to reach more people and ears on all sides of the world 🌎.

Are you planning for a next release of this project like round 2?

Lance: This is the 4th album 💿 to be released. I’m always creating and writing ✍️ music. So it won’t be long before more Pyramid is setting more music 🎶 out there on 🔥.

What else for the future? Something else you like to share with us?

Lance: Pyramid always comes with concepts. Anyone following will see the different Pyramid covers that identify and bring to you array of information that each album represents. It’s very much like how Iron Maiden brought Eddie to each album they made.

Thank you for your time, was nice meeting you and had this little chat, hope we hear from you soon with more music news!

Lance: Thank you very much it was very awesome to chat with you as well.
Stay Tuned and Stay Metal \M/
