1. Hello Kazu! What is the response from fans for Deathroll’s new album Immorality?

Very good. The more time passes, the more I realize how happy I am that we were able to release it.

2. Why did you decide to name the album Immorality? Is it a concept album? And what is immoral nowadays?

Most of the songs by the band DEATHROLL depict the dark side of the human heart. And the songs on this album express what DEATHROLL really wants to express. That is why we named it Immorality.

3. Are you the only composer of Deathroll? Where do you find inspiration to write music? And how do you structure a Deathroll song?

I wrote all the lyrics and music for DEATHROLL. Basically, I think of riffs and backing while playing guitar. For the song structure, I record phrases once and then fit them together like a puzzle.

4. Do you have favorite guitar and amp models that you use? Are they the same for practicing, recording sessions and live shows?

As for guitars, my #1 favorite is Dean's Razorback. I use it both live and on recordings. My live effects pedal is a Line6 POD XTLive. For recording at Immorality, I use the Guitar Rig plug-in.

5. What are Deathroll lyrics about? Do you write the lyrics by yourself?

Yes, The lyrical content of DEATHROLL is about the darkness of the human heart.

6. Which metal singers have influenced your vocal style?

DEATH, Chuck Schuldiner

7. What is it like being a black metal band in Japan today? Do people support your work? Is there a black metal scene now in Japan or you follow a path on your own?

Black metal in Japan is very minor. My fans are scattered here and there. And I am going my own way quite a bit.

8. How do you feel when you listen to your music after it is recorded and released?

It makes me very happy. The better it is, the happier I am. And I hope it will be released soon so that everyone can hear it.

9. With which bands have you shared the stage in live shows so far? And with which bands do you want to play live in the future?

I have played opposite such talented bands as Gyze and Hellhound. It would be great to play with Death, Deicide, etc. if I wanted to.

10. Is music the only artistic expression you have? Do you also like other forms of art?
