STARLIGHT Set to Release Debut Contemporary Lounge Rock EP "Under the Radar" February 12th

A modern, throwback sound in a deliberate, quirky way is exactly what the new EP, “Under the Radar”, from Starlight brings to the table. The introduction EP is set to officially release digitally Friday, February 12, 2021 through Exquisite Noise Records (US).

Hailed as the latest form of Contemporary Lounge Rock, Starlight’s debut delivers an organically assembled retro Rock experience that sits amidst a myriad of modern releases yet has the music rapidly standing out and moving to the forefront of listeners’ indulgences.

Originally conceived as a solo project by producer and guitarist Mick Michaels of the Heavy Metal band Corners of Sanctuary, “Under the Radar” evolved into a collaboration and ultimately, an exploration of musical ideas.

“About six years ago, a friend and mentor suggested I try my hand at something other than Heavy Metal”, said Michaels. “He even suggested I do the singing…which I considered for a second but felt it wasn’t what would be completely best for this project. Bringing others into the fold would be the direction it would have to take to get it off the ground.”

With the help of an industry contact, Michaels recruited unknown singer and violinist, Taryn Dorothy, for lead vocals and also enlisted Corners of Sanctuary bandmate and drummer Mad T to supply the back beat, with Michaels providing guitars, bass and keyboards.

“Taryn’s voice adds so much diversity and depth to the songs…each track took on a new flavor once her vocals were added”, said Michaels.

Starlight’s “Under the Radar” will be available February 12th on multiple digital platforms including: iTunes, Spotify, Deezer, Google Music, Amazon among many others. The EP’s first single “Chasing Memories”, is now available as an audio video at https://youtu.be/CRvxIgQClDw.
