Avatar: Legend Of Avatar Country: A Metal Odyssey

A laudatory writing about the Swedish Avatar has swirled in my mind for a while now. I can't deny, I'm a huge fan of the guys. Being a creative creature, I really love what the band does in terms of their albums. For example, they created a world without borders with a king, enemies, battle, citizens for their album Avatar Country released in 2018... The tip of this era was the Avatar Country movie. For its finishing, fans threw together the money during about 90 minutes. (There's no question, the citizens of the country are loyal!) So we got a sci-fi/adventure short film with some drama and humor next to the great music. By the way, when the news came out about this project, Michael Jackson's Moonwalker came into my mind.

The movie was directed and edited by Johan Carlén, whose works (Black Waltz, Smells Like A Freakshow, The Eagle Has Landed...) we have already seen for a few times. So, it was guaranteed that something cool would come out of it. The first "preview" was A Statue Of The King followed by three other music videos (The King Wants You, The King Welcomes You To Avatar Country, King's Harvest). Through these videos we could gain insight into this kingdom. And then finally, the movie was released officially on 5 March! ("Insiders" could already watch it earlier.)

There are very spectacular visual effects and locations, it's unbelievable that almost everything was made in front of a green screen. The story is about the battle between the good and the bad. The people of Avatar Country with the King and his elite orchestra stand up against the evil and his army to protect the metal music. The enemy wants to wipe out this genre and tries to conquer the empire with soulless "tuc-tuc" sound.

There are not only famous metal bands' names come up on t-shirts or a small reference (for example, as a font type) but some motives from some classic movies (Metropolis, The Seventh Seal) also appear and the poster has a little Star Wars feeling. Of course, the weapons aren't simple rifles. The apologists of metal shoot with laser guitars here. The guys acting is quite good. I really liked Henrik's in King's Harvest. I wouldn't go into details regarding the story and especially the outcome because maybe there are people who haven't seen/heard yet. One thing is sure, it don't get bored!

And here is the movie itself!
